The goal of this project was to visually reinterpret shots from an existing piece of media while also designing new scenes that match its original aesthetic.

I chose to do this with the movie 式日 directed by Hideaki Anno. In the movie, the two main characters are each shown struggling with their lives and are unable to face the present situation they are in. Throughout the film, they work together to face their own issues.

I worked on this project on and off for about 6 months, with many aspects of the project changing or being cut. I found it hard to be satisfied with what I had made as it didn't reach my expectations for a long time, leading to me taking multiple breaks from the project, not sure if I would return to complete it. It is far from perfect, but it has finally reached a state where I feel it is good enough to call complete.
